Is it from the same era as Tony Williams's Yellow Gretsch?

I never had much luck with Hydraulics myself, but Gadd claimed he used them in the late '70s. If that's the case, then Hydraulics are part of some of the greatest drum sounds EVER!!!

If you've read the great MD interview with Gadd in January, there's allso an interview with his Tech, Gadd is still using Hydraulics today, but the tech has a hell of a work tuning them etc. It's just one more of thoose gadd things aye

I didn't know Gadd used those at all? I thought he used remo pin stripes. Aren't the Hydro's made by Evans?

To my knowledge Gadd has not used Hydraulic evans heads since the 80's early 70's. I have seen him use coated Amabassaders to coated powerstroke3s onthe toms and snare.
Evans I think still makes Hydraulics.

There's a great picture on the cover of MD magazine in January, indicating that there's hydraulic heads on his kit. It might be for exhibitionary reasons, but there is [img]smile.gif[/img]

err edititory note: i think it's pinstripes there on those toms. But in my thought they sound just the same [img]tongue.gif[/img]

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yamaha has now done this but the drums don't come with die cast hoops, and they aren't available in the U.S. Only Canada I think...
